What you need to know
- A new Android phone from Realme will be the first to feature magnetic wireless charging like iPhone 12.
- Realme's new smartphone will ship with a new MagDart series of wireless chargers, including a larger model that features a built-in fan.
A new phone from Realme will be the first Android model to feature Magnetic wireless charging just like MagSafe for the iPhone 12.
Two new 'MagDart' chargers were first revealed last week by Gizmochina, one of which looks identical to the MagSafe charger for iPhone 12.
A second charger was also revealed, sporting a much larger square brick design and a built-in fan for cooling.
Realme has now confirmed that its upcoming smartphone will be the first to feature magnetic wireless charging:

According to an exclusive report from GSMArena, the new MagDart wireless charger is a lot like the iPhone 12's MagSafe charging system:
Similar to Apple's MagSafe tech, Realme MagDart will clip onto the back of the device and pump out an undisclosed amount of power. Realme's solution is physically larger than what we've seen from Apple and does include a fan to help keep thermals in check. We got confirmation that charging speeds will exceed 15W and that Realme's solution will be the fastest magnetic charger in the world once it launches.
If reports are correct the Realme Flash system might well offer faster-charging speeds than iPhone 12, which can only achieve 15W of power when paired with a 20W adapter that doesn't actually come with the iPhone.
Obviously, the larger charger featuring a fan is a pretty hefty unit and not the sort of sleek, low-profile design you might want from a charger, but it works, it works. The new Realme Flash will reportedly feature a curved screen, hole-punch camera, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.
