As reported by MacRumors, Apple has released a new beta firmware update titled 4A362b for the AirPods Pro. The new update brings the Conversation Boost feature, which will launch with iOS 15, to the earbuds.
Last Friday, Apple released a second version of the AirPods Pro firmware (4A362b), but it went under the radar until today when it was shared on Reddit.
According to Apple's developer website, the second AirPods Pro firmware update adds support for Conversation Boost, a feature that was missing from the first beta.
Apple normally does not let us know what the purpose of a firmware update is, but the company began releasing beta versions of their AirPods firmware to help developers test new features. This latest beta firmware version includes Conversation Boost, a new feature that will use the beam-forming microphones in the earbuds to help those who are hard of hearing to focus on the person talking to them.
If you are trying to manually update the firmware in your AirPods, you won't have any luck with that either. Apple has limited the beta firmware for AirPods Pro to registered developers who also need Xcode in order to download the update.
