14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros might be just around the corner.
New unannounced MacBooks running macOS Monterey have been added to the Eurasian Economic Commission database. While not guaranteed, it's likely that the new machines are the much-rumored 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro notebooks.
While the names of the machines aren't given, the model numbers A2442 and A2485 are. Neither of those model numbers are current Apple MacBooks, so these are clearly new devices. If rumors are accurate, the two machines will feature an Apple-designed M1X processor and arrive before the end of the year. The fact that the machines are listed as running macOS Monterey means they won't be shipping before the update is released — likely in or around September.
The new MacBook Pros are expected to ship with more than a new chip, too. Rumors of the return of HDMI and microSD card slots are rife — something that content creators in particular will be very pleased to see. Some suggestions also have the new machines coming with some sort of MagSafe connector, too.
Each new notebook is expected to come equipped with Apple's mini-LED technology for improved contrast and brightness. The same technology has been winning rave reviews on the iPad Pro of late, and it'll be great to see it make its debut in the MacBook Pro lineup as well.
The next few months are already looking likely to be busy ones for Apple. We still have new iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and AirPods to look forward to!
