BlueJeans Telehealth gets Apple Health app integration

"With the new Apple Health app integration and unique Televisit Tile, patients can now share certain health data with practitioners and healthcare providers during their BlueJeans Telehealth visit"

What you need to know

  • BlueJeans Telehealth now supports Apple's Health app.
  • It means patients can now share health data from their iPhone with practitioners and healthcare providers.

Verizon's BlueJeans Telehealth platform has today announced support for Apple Health, letting patients share health data with practitioners and healthcare providers.

The company stated:

With the goal of improving the overall patient care experience, today we are excited to announce that BlueJeans Telehealth, a HIPAA-ready virtual care solution that helps drive better patient interactions, now includes new features that further enhance virtual health visits.

With the new Apple Health app integration and unique Televisit Tile, patients can now share certain health data with practitioners and healthcare providers during their BlueJeans Telehealth visit.

Patients can choose to share health data with practitioners including heart rate, sleep, ECG, step count, falls, and mobility data, directly into the BlueJeans Telehealth app on iPhone:

Using the BlueJeans iOS app, users will be able to select Apple Health app data from within the pre-visit patient landing experience or through the televisit tile during the visit. Once synced, the healthcare provider will be able to see and interact with the Apple Health app data. The healthcare provider can expand data to better observe trend lines as well as screen share the data for use during the televisit.

BlueJeans says that Health app users retain overall control of which categories they choose to share for each appointment, and that the shared data is encrypted in transit and at rest. BlueJeans says the move will help "drive better patient interactions" and improve overall patient care.
