Twitter's testing a new tab that shows tweets from people you Super Follow

What you need to know

  • Twitter is testing a new feature that will put tweets from Super Follows into a new tab.
  • Super Follows will be kept separate so you never miss a special tweet again.

That's just super.

Twitter is testing a new feature that will put tweets from people you Super Follow into a special tab, keeping them separate from normal tweets from other people.

Spotted by developer Nima Owji, the move will put a new tab on a Twitter user's profile page.

Super Follows is a new feature that will allow people to offer special, limited-access content to people who pay them a fee via Twitter. This new tab is where that content will live and will only be visible to people who pay to be a Super Follower.

Twitter hasn't confirmed when Super Follow will become available but it announced it back in February. Super Follows will be priced at $4.99 and we still don't know how popular the feature will be for both content creators and followers alike.

It's very likely that features like Super Follow will only be available to people who use the official Twitter app — an app that few would say is the best iPhone app for reading tweets. Hopefully the app will continue to improve to the point where it's a viable option for those of us who have spent the last ten years using apps like Tweetbot and Twitteriffic.
