- The Nintendo Switch OLED is set to arrive on October 8.
On Tuesday, Nintendo revealed the new Nintendo Switch OLED model, confirming the many months of rumors that a Nintendo Switch Pro of some kind with an OLED screen would be revealed. As the name indicated, this new Nintendo Switch features a 7-inch OLED screen. It also features enhanced audio, a wide adjustable stand and 64 GB of internal storage for all your games.
It's worth noting that outside of whatever enhanced audio the system has, the Nintendo Switch OLED model does not appear to feature any improvements to performance, meaning that big upcoming games such as the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will theoretically run the same on this new Switch as on the older hardware.
With Metroid Dread also slated for release on October 8, the Nintendo Switch OLED model is fittingly the same shade of white as Samus' new armor, though there will also be a neon blue and red option.
The system is fully compatible with the best Nintendo Switch games currently playable on the regular Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch Lite. It's also fully compatible with all the existing Joy-Con controllers. The Nintendo Switch OLED model is set to be available on October 8 for $350.
