The latest update to Apple Music on Android brings two major features to the app that iPhone users have been enjoying for a little while now.

You can check out the release notes of Apple Music 3.6 and download it on the Google Play Store now:

In this update, Apple Music adds a spatial listening experience on compatible devices, with thousands of tracks in Dolby Atmos available at launch.

Other updates include:

  • Lossless Audio, a new way to experience uncompromised sound, with bit-for-bit accuracy.
  • Automatic Crossfade, a new way to listen that blends each song into the next for a seamless experience.
  • Search enhancements to library, which allow you to more easily find your favorite music with in-line search.

Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio were two huge additions to Apple Music. For one, they both arrived at the music streaming service with no bump in monthly cost to its subscribers. The technology brings a new dimension of audio to music - if artists mix for it of course.

Lossless Audio, while not as major of a leap, is also enhancing the audio experience across Apple's devices, even the HomePod. If you want to get the most out of Spatial Audio, check out our list of the Best headphones for Dolby Atmos for Apple Music 2021.
