Google Meet's 1-hour time limit has returned, but a new Google Workspace Individual tier has been added to allow small business owners to enjoy calls that go longer than that when needed.
As reported by our friends at Android Central, Google announced Workspace Individual back in June but didn't provide many details about what it would offer. Now, we know that the tier is aimed at helping "individual business owners get more done, show up more professionally, and better serve their customers." The tier is obviously designed for single-person businesses and allows people to enjoy meetings of longer than an hour while also giving them access to noise cancellation, breakout rooms, shareable booking with Google Calendar, and more.
Google had done away with the 1-hour call limit in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but as the world continues its recovery the company has decided that the time is right to reinstate the limit once more. Anyone on a call beyond the 55-minute mark will now receive a warning that it will end soon.
Google Meet group calls still remain one of the best options for people looking to stay in touch, and people can always end one call and start another if the 1-hour limit becomes a problem. Those who can make use of the additional features should definitely consider upgrading to the new Individual plan, though.
