"Through this latest update, we'll be rolling out several advancements on the mobile Home hub designed to make finding the audio you love easier and more intuitive."

What you need to know

  • Spotify is getting an update later this month.
  • New tweaks will bring more features to the home page of the app.

Spotify has announced upcoming changes to the Home Hub of its app, as one of the best music streaming apps for iPhone gets even better.

From Spotify:

About a year ago, we reworked the Spotify mobile experience to refresh our Home interface. Since then, Spotify users have been able to access the content they love more quickly and easily—and maybe even discover something new straight from their home screen. But the ease and discovery don't stop there. This month, we're announcing a series of updates that will make the Home experience even more personalized for each and every listener.

Spotify says the changes to the Home Hub will make finding music easier and more intuitive. The changes will roll out to iOS and Android this month.

The Home Hub is getting a new 'Recently Played' destination where you can see up to three months' worth of listening history, with both Premium and Free users able to browse recently played individual tracks and episodes, including where you played them.

Global Premium users will also get new and relevant podcast episodes in the Home Hub, with new episodes marked with a blue dot. There's also more discovery features for new music:

Premium users globally won't miss a single track from artists they love. Now, you will see a new surface highlighted on top of the Home hub dedicated to discovery-oriented recommendations that are personalized, timely, and reactive to your taste.

In February Spotify unveiled a new high-quality audio service for Premium users called Spotify HiFi.
