Hang tight, help is at hand.
A number of users are reporting that they are seeing an error message when they try to watch videos via the YouTube app on Apple TV. Thankfully, YouTube says it's aware of the issue and is already working on a fix.
Reported by MacRumors and 9to5Mac, a number of users are being given the "something went wrong" error when trying to watch video on an Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K. Some users have suggested that deleting the app and reinstalling fixes things, but that doesn't seem to be guaranteed to work.
However, YouTube has at least acknowledged the issue via Twitter, going on to say that a fix is currently being worked on.
Thanks for reaching out – we've seen similar reports about this and we are currently working on a fix. We'll keep you posted once we have an update.

Anyone experiencing the same issue and error message should probably try the reinstall trick. But failing that it looks like you're just going to have to wait for YouTube to roll out an update that fixes whatever's wrong. And if you're really lucky it might be something that can be fixed server-side, removing the need for an updated app to be rolled out.
Whether you're watching YouTube or not, you deserve to be checking out your stories on the best 4K HDR TVs around. Treat yo' self!
